Life at Vermont Country Bunny

2016

Alfie was adopted!

2017

Alfie has settled into his life in Boston with Kailee.  Kailee and Alfie travel to Vermont often and Alfie is always so excited for all of the taste-testing he knows that will go on.

2018

Alfie gets an Instagram, Penny was adopted and we had a big idea...

We discovered that Alfie had a sensitive stomach, but also really loved treats (who doesn't!) We began foraging fresh dandelions, clover, herbs, vegetables and fruits and experimented with the dehydration process to be able to preserve these treats for him year round.  We did a lot of research on what bunnies can (and can't) eat and got to gathering all Alfie's favorites. There was a lot of taste-testing going on around here...

In June, Alfie got a little sister - Penny!  We adopted her from an amazing bunny rescue out of Orange, MA (check out her Facebook "Friendly Hoppers").  Penny's original name was Thumper, but she's such a girly girl, we thought Penny would be just perfect.  She can be shy at first, but as long as Alfie is near by, she's a sweet girl and loves to be involved in the taste testing.  Be careful leaving any piece of clothing or material around her or you may find a 'Penny hole' (a small, perfectly circular hole where Penny leaves her mark!) She's a Material Girl...

We officially launched Haytopper recipe #1 and sold out!  We are starting to experiment with fruit & veggie mixes. The taste-testing continues...

2019

Winter is giving us the opportunity to complete the necessary tasks of getting Vermont Country Bunny up and running. The past couple of years have brought us up to this point. There will be a lot of foraging when Spring finally gets here! We are knee deep in snow.

2020

What a year! So much of life is unexpected and we are grateful for our little farm. We spent a lot of time foraging and drying our delicious ingredients.

2021

We were able to get into some local farm stores this year and are excited to see where this goes!  We are hoping to spend more time learning our website and making the ordering process easy and efficient.

2022

Business continues to grow!  We opened several new accounts this year and are excited to see where this goes.  We feel so grateful we are able to share our fresh, homemade treats with you all.  Kailee and her husband Santiago relocated from Boston home to Vermont to live back at the farm with Alfie & Penny.

2023

We have a distributor!  Our products are available at pet food stores throughout Vermont, NH, and NY.  We were able to bring back Vermont Fresh Clover this summer and it is absolutely beautiful!  A mix of purple and white.  The purple adds such a nice pop of color to our mixes and the white smells so sweet! We purchased a new tractor, utility vehicle and zero turn this year - much needed upgrades for maintaining our fields!  Blueberries this year were plentiful.  Kailee left the corporate world and now runs the business alongside Anne.
